Lois G. McIntyre

Lois G. McIntyre, age 93, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 1:30 AM on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at her residence. She was born on January 25, 1923 in Walkon, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Maude (Miller) Fuller. She was reared and educated in the Walkon School District. Lois attended Union College. On August 14, 1944, she married Wendell L. McIntyre and he preceded her in death on March 11, 1999. Lois began work as an LPN at the Mercer County Nursing Home and later at the Park Manor Nursing Home in Burlington, Iowa. She lastly worked with her daughter at Plants Plus for over 30 years. She loved flowers, crocheting, and her many cat friends. Lois is survived by two daughters; Beverly (Ernie) Dukes of Hendersonville, NC and Barbara Hucke of Oquawka, IL, three sons; Barney (Cindy) McIntyre of Cordova, IL, Berney McIntyre of Oquawka, IL, and Ben McIntyre of Oquawka, IL, two sisters, Ester Trial of Piedmont, MO and Helen McIntyre of Portland, OR. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

A funeral service is planned for 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Her family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Sumner Township.
