Bernadine M. Curtis

Bernadine M. Curtis, 78, of Galesburg, died at 5:51 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

She was born July 8, 1938, in Galesburg, the daughter of Charles Dale and Beulah (Hutchings) Lamb. She married Herbert R. Curtis on December 24, 1955 in Galesburg.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 61 years, Herbert; four children, Charlie (and Tammy Perez) Curtis, Lucinda Roller, Kimberly Curtis, and Tommy Curtis, all of Galesburg; 11 grandchildren, Kandi Curtis, J.R. Curtis, Nic Curtis, Amber Curtis, Kristina Curtis, Butch Curtis, Thomas Curtis Pflasterer, Rickie Roller Jr., Austyn Curtis, Ryan Curtis Pflasterer, and Cameron Curtis; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Gloria Mae Riggs of Galesburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Lamb; and a sister, Wilma Jean Curtis.

Bernadine worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Knoxville for 26 years. She started in the laundry department, then was a CNA, and retired as an Occupational Therapist Assistant.

Bernadine enjoyed crafts, such as crocheting, fishing and camping at Keithsburg, and attending dirt track stock car races.

Visitation will be noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at East Linwood Cemetery with Rev.
