Jay B.
Reynolds, 60, formerly of Monmouth, passed away at 7:55 p.m., Wednesday,
November 9, 2016 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg after a long illness.
He was
born in Monmouth on March 10, 1956 to James and Eunice (Peterson) Reynolds of
rural Little York. He attended Yorkwood and Union Schools, and graduated with
the Yorkwood High School Class of 1974.
He was
employed in farming and ag-related business in Warren and Henderson counties
and in Missouri for all of his life. For the past several years, he was
Assistant Manager at Smithfield Farmland in Milan, MO.
He
enjoyed fishing, auctions, and--especially--spending time with his family.
He
married Lora Jackson in March of 1993 in Des Moines, IA. They later divorced.
He is
survived by his mother, Eunice Reynolds, of Monmouth, and by two sons: Casey
(Angel) Reynolds and Brady Reynolds, both of Milan, MO, and by two grandsons,
Karsen and Jeremy. In addition, he is survived by two brothers, Jeff Reynolds
of Palm Springs, CA and Jon Reynolds of Monmouth, and by one sister, Julie
(Scott) Buhmann of Hobart, IN. He is also survived by three nieces, a nephew,
four great-nephews, aunts, uncle, and many cousins.
He was
preceded in death by his father.
Memorial
services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Heritage
United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth. The family will receive friends at the
church from 9:30 AM until the start of the service. Cremation rites have been
accorded. Memorials have been
established for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the University of Missouri
Children's Hospital, or the Milan (MO) High School chapter of the Future
Farmers of America (FFA). McGuire &
