Terecia K. Torrance, 81 of Macomb, IL passed
away Tuesday November 8, 2016, 10:54 p.m. at Wesley Village in Macomb, IL. She was born Friday June 7, 1935 in Monmouth,
IL the daughter of James B. and Martha Grace (Carmer) Van Arsdale. Her mother passed away two weeks after she
was born and she was raised by her father and grandparents until her father
remarried. She married Duane Torrance on
December 19, 1953 in San Diego, CA.
Those left to cherish her memory are her
husband of Macomb, IL; children Jo Ellen (Jeff) Kirby of Roseville, IL, Janise
(Mike) Casteel of Roseville, IL, Scott ( Monica) Torrance of Macomb, IL, and Lori (Randy) Plath of Burlington, IA;
grandchildren Shawn (Lisa) Kirby of Oswego, IL, Christy (Jesse) Thornton of
Roseville, IL, Cara (Kris) Guenther of Albany, Kevin (Heather) Casteel of
Edwardsville, IL, Steven (Maria) Casteel of Kansas City, MO, Kim (Lucas)
Glasgow of Madison, WI; Kristin (Jordan) Goldesberry of Springfield, IL,
Gabrielle Torrance, and Nicholas Torrance of Macomb, IL; 7 great grandchildren;
siblings Dolores Butler of Macomb, IL, Diana (Jim) Denly of Erie, CO, Barbara
Minssen of Bettendorf, IA, Paul Van Arsdale of Media, IL, and Cindy (Joe)
Vilardo of Greenville, NC. She was
preceded in death by her mother, father, stepmother (Helen) and best friend
Kathleen “Kaky” Rothzen.
Terecia was a member of the PEO Chapter N of
Roseville, IL and Chapter K of Macomb, IL.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, the Roseville
United Methodist Church, and was also part of the United Methodist Women, Home
Extension, card club, Colfax club and canasta club. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting,
knitting dishcloths, and gardening. She traveled
extensively, and enjoyed attending events for children, grandchildren, and
great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Saturday November 12,
2016, 10:30 a.m. at the Roseville United Methodist Church Roseville, IL. Visitation will be Friday evening, November
11, 2016 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Roseville United Methodist Church Roseville,
IL. Burial will be in the Raritan Cemetery
Raritan, IL. Memorials may be made to
Wesley Village (Macomb, IL), MDH Hospice, Wesley United Methodist Church
