Charlotte L. Harmon, age 93, of Monmouth, Illinois; left her earthly home and
entered her Heavenly home at 10:30 PM on Monday, November 7, 2016 at OSF Holy
Family Medical Center in Monmouth. Charlotte was born on April 24, 1923 in
Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Charles F. and Letha (Dilworth) Floyd. She was
raised in Burlington, IA and attended school in Burlington and later attended
Monmouth High School. On December 30, 1946 Charlotte married Clifton J. "CJ"
Harmon in Burlington, IA and he preceded her in death on December 4, 1993. She
began work at Monmouth Pottery in Monmouth and later worked at Oscar Meyer in
the Quad Cities for a number of years. Clifton and Charlotte moved to the
Monmouth area in 1956 and she became a full time homemaker and mother. She cared
for a number of children in foster care locally for many years. Charlotte also
did home daycare for many children. She was a member of the New Life Foursquare
Gospel Church. Charlotte enjoyed traveling, cooking, and decorating for the
Holidays. She loved her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. She
was a fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears. Charlotte is survived
by one daughter, Trudy (Tom) Sanders of Monmouth, IL, two sons; Larry (Kathleen)
Harmon of Taylorville, IL, and Randy (Sandi) Harmon of Monmouth, IL, seven
grandchildren; Tom (Jackie) Sanders Jr., Trish (Carl) Christenberry, Scott
Harmon, Tisha (Pete) Connour, Amanda (Roman) Corso, Leslie (Jason) Connell, and
Payton (Josh) Brentise, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great
grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Clifton, one
infant son, seven brothers and sisters, and numerous family infants.
A graveside funeral is planned for 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at
Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth, Illinois. No visitation is planned. A
memorial fund is being established for the New Life Foursquare Church in
