Eilleen Elsie Spoerl, age 59, of Monmouth, Illinois, died peacefully by
slipping away and going to sleep at 11:00 PM on Monday, December 19, 2016 at
Royal Oaks Nursing Home in Kewanee, Illinois. She was born on September 14, 1957
in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Peter R. and Shirley J. (Beard) Ausmus.
Eilleen attended school in Peoria, IL and Monmouth, IL. On August 27, 2002,
Eilleen married David E. Spoerl in Monmouth, Illinois is he is surviving.
Eilleen worked at Warren Achievement Center in Monmouth and worked many jobs
there. She participated in Special Olympics as a track runner. Eilleen loved to
ride her bike, music, birds, fish, rabbits, and all animals. She like to listen
to music; rock, country, and Elvis Presley. She, as her husband David said, "was
a bingo freak" and played whenever she could. Eilleen is survived by her husband
David of Monmouth, IL, one son, David Stotler of Arkansas, and her beloved dog,
Lacey. She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, and one
sister.
A memorial service is planned for 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at
Faith United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth, Illinois. Cremation is being
accorded. Interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery. A memorial fund in being
