Harold L. “Curt”
Curtis, 86, of Galesburg, formerly of Lake Calhoun, died at 9:05 p.m.
Thursday, December 1, 2016 in Marigold Health Care Center.
He was born March 4, 1930,
in Browns, Illinois, the son of William M. and Myrtle (Potter)
Curtis. He married Sanda Schulte on August 30, 1952 in Belvidere.
He is survived by his wife
of 64 years, Sanda; a son, Michael C. (and Joy) Curtis of Washington;
and a daughter, Chris (and Craig Parker) Curtis of Galesburg. He was
preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles; and a sister,
Anise.
Curt worked for Prudential
Life Insurance Company as a Certified Life Underwriter for 30 years
in Rockford, Galesburg, and Kewanee. He had also worked as a
designer at Lundin Flower Shop in Belvidere.
Curt was an active member
of Grace Anglican Church in Galesburg, where he served on the
Diocesan Council and was a Lay Reader, Chalice Bearer, Senior Warden,
and Vestry Member. He was past president of Lake Calhoun. He loved
to garden and camp and was an avid golfer.
Cremation will be
accorded. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 10,
2016 at Grace Anglican Church. Father Andy Ainley will officiate.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive
friends at a luncheon following the service. Memorial contributions
may be made to Grace Anglican Church. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral
Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is handling
