Phyllis I. Ross

Phyllis I. Ross, 90, of Carbondale, IL formerly of Roseville, IL passed away at 5:35 PM Thursday December 22, 2016 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. She was born on December 10, 1926 in Ponemah, IL to Cloyd R. and Mae B. (Ford) Miller. She married Chester Wayne Ross on November 2, 1945 in Macomb, IL. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1990.
She is survived by her son Merlyn Wayne (Loretta Ann) Ross of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter-in-law Jeanine (Randy Evans) Ross of Herrin, IL; five grandchildren, Mark (Sarah) Ross, Mike (Liz) Ross, Amber (Jason) Shiparski, Ian Ross and Chris Ross; one step-grandson Jake Evans ; 8 great-grandchildren Alex, Damien, Trinity, Hailey, Katlyn, Landon, Amber and Mckinley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son Howard Eugene Ross. She attended Rayburn Grade School before graduating from Roseville High School. Chester and Phyllis moved to Carbondale in 1982 and resided at Prairie Living of Chatauqua.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday December 28, 2016 at the Asbury Cemetery. Pastor Jim Eddy will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made to the Carbondale Park District.
