She was born March 21,
1938, in Elmwood, the daughter of Merle and Leona (Hedden) Morris.
She married Wayne D. Wilson on August 20, 1953 in Monmouth. He
preceded her in death September 19, 2003.
She is survived by three
sons, Wayne E. Wilson of Monmouth, Donald L. Wilson of Galesburg, and
Gerald (and Sally) Wilson of Alexis; three daughters, Darlene (and
Ray) Pine of Oneida, Sue (and Ron) Taylor of Monmouth, and Lucy
Shannon of Galesburg; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; three
brothers, John (and Linda) Morris of Havana, Bob (and Charlene)
Morris of Wataga, and Ronald (and Cathy) Morris of Manito; and two
sisters, Annbelle (and Clarence) Smith of Lewistown and Janice Luster
of Easton. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by
her parents; a son, Melvin Wilson on December 11, 1993; a grandson,
Matthew Wilson; two great grandsons, Dylan Miller and Hunter Ward; a
brother, Donald Morris; and a sister, Marylou Switzer.
Shirley was a homemaker.
She loved sewing and spending time with her family, especially her
grandchildren. She had been a volunteer at St. Mary Medical Center
in Galesburg.
Visitation will be 10 to
11 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg
Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Terry
Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Silent Home Cemetery.
