Edna B. Ward

Edna B. Ward, 90, formerly of Monmouth, Illinois died at 12:10 am Saturday, January 14, 2017 in the Care Center of Abingdon, Abingdon, Illinois.

She was born February 19, 1926 in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of William L. and Margaret E. Grimm Dunlap. She married Wilbur H. Miller in 1945. She later married James O. Ward on February 16, 1975 in New London, Iowa. He preceded her in death in June of 1988.

Surviving are five sons, Michael W. (Simoni) Miller of Elmendorf, Texas, Daniel Miller of Humboldt, Illinois, Joseph Miller of Des Moines, Iowa, Terry L. Miller of Charleston, Illinois. and Mark E. (Annie) Miller of Ewing, Missouri.; two daughters, Sandra K. (Ron) Bauswell of Galesburg and Connie M. (James) Thompson of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; one sister, Dorothy Renouf of Austin, Texas, a son-in-law, Shannan Bauer and his children Kinsey and Zak of Fishers, Indiana; 18 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and numerous great, great grandchildren and her dear friend, Sheila Wiley of Galesburg and her Scotty, Scott Farm of Monmouth. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Mary Alice Miller, four brothers and five sisters.

Edna was raised in Salem, Ohio. She lived in a number of towns in Illinois before moving to Monmouth for many years. She recently moved to Galesburg in 2012. Edna had a number of different jobs throughout her life but spent most of her time as a homemaker. She attended the Assembly of God Church.

Memorial services will be 11:30 am Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson–West Chapel in Galesburg with the Rev. Roger Carlson officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation to be accorded. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
