James “Jim” L. Waller, 80, of Monmouth, passed away at 5:32
p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2017 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth.
He was born on May 22, 1936
in Monmouth, IL, the son of Norman L. and Evelyn M. (Perry) Waller. He was
raised and educated in Monmouth graduating from Monmouth High School.
Jim married Janet Thomas in Gerlaw, IL on April 6, 1990 and
she survives.
Jim first worked at Agar-Wilson Foods on the production
line; he then managed the greenhouse at Maple City Floral for 30 years and
later the Flowers-R- US greenhouses. Jim then returned to Farmland for a time
and most recently he worked at Well’s Pet Food as a security guard. Jim was an avid
Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He enjoyed bowling, going to the casino, and most
of all, spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Waller of Monmouth; his children,
Toni (Bill) Cooper of Monmouth, Rick Waller of Richmond, VA, Jamie (Matt) Hays
of Oquawka, IL, Lynette (Dennis) Liggett of Monmouth, Terri (Billy) Boock of
Little York, IL, Debbie (George) Kulhanek of Bolling Brook, IL, Don (Jennifer)
Taylor of Kirkwood, IL. Also surviving
are twenty grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law,
Christa Waller of Monmouth; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and
Mollie, his beloved dog.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be from 4:00-6:00
p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and
Crematory, Monmouth. Cremation rites
have been accorded. Memorials can be
