Charlotte C. Dixon, 90, of
Galesburg, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the Knox County
Nursing Home.
She was born April 17,
1926, in Perry, Iowa, the daughter of Sherman A. and Birdie L.
(Gleason) Christofferson. She married James D. Dixon on December 7,
1968, in Woodlake, California. He preceded her in death on February
15, 2005.
She is survived by a son,
Michel Ray (and Pam) Marshall of Lander, Wyoming; three daughters,
Tammy Sue (and Manuel) Franco of Galesburg, Barbara Ellen (and
Forest) Williams of Tulare, California, and Brenda (and Dennis)
Johnson Sr. of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren;
four brothers, Phillip Christofferson of Biggsville, Illinois, Bill
Christofferson of Oneida, Illinois, Jim Christofferson of Gulfport,
Illinois, and Larry Christofferson of California; three sisters, Ruth
Blyleven of Idaho and June Daly and Gerna McGraw, both of Missouri;
and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was
preceded in death by her parents; a son, Danny Dixon; a daughter,
Sherry Ryan; and eight brothers and sisters.
Charlotte was a homemaker.
While living in California, she was a school librarian for six
years. James and Charlotte retired to Galesburg in 1992. She was an
active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Charlotte enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with her
family.
Visitation will be 5 to 7
p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg
Chapel. Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017
at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Her brother, Jim Christofferson, will
offer the eulogy. Memorial contributions may be made to the American
