Glenn C. Wilson

Glenn C. Wilson, age 80, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 3:05 PM on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth. Glenn was born on November 24, 1936 in Oquawka, Illinois and is the son of Charles S. and Vera G. Crawford Wilson Kilpatrick. Glenn as a child moved to Monmouth, Illinois where he attended Monmouth Schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1956. He later completed his Real Estate licensing from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois. Glenn was a member of the National Guard locally and the123rd Field Artillery here in Monmouth, Illinois. Glenn first married Joyce Jackson and later was married to Sarah Hoopes. He currently is married to Linda Moore Bizarri on February 18, 1977 in East Galesburg, Illinois. She is surviving. Glenn began work at Farmall in the Quad Cities and later was employed at Maytag Corporation of Galesburg as an assembler, which he did for many years and until his retirement in January of 2000. He much loved roller skating, fishing, and hunting throughout his lifetime. Glenn loved exercising and walking twice a day. He was very active in his active life and waved his cane at many. He is survived by his wife, Linda M. Wilson of Monmouth, Illinois, two daughters, Becky Swank and Kim (Michael Blindt) Wilson, both of Monmouth, IL. He has one son, Paul (Terrie) Wilson of Summerville, South Carolina and one step son, Tony (Wendy) Bizarri of San Antonio, Texas. There are eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren surviving. Glenn has two sisters, Ella Hank and Karen Cassiday, both of Monmouth, Illinois. and one brother, Louis (Gayle) Wilson of Loganville, Georgia surviving. He is preceded in his death by his parents, one son, seven brothers, and two sisters.
A funeral service is planned for 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. His family plans a visitation and will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment will be in the Monmouth Cemetery.
