Marjorie J. Mills

Marjorie J. Mills, 89, of Little York, IL, passed away at 3:48 a.m., Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Legacy Estates, Monmouth, IL.   

She was born February 13, 1928 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Francis Edward and Mary Jane (Brownlee) Gavin.  She was raised and educated in Little York, graduating from Little York High School in 1947.

Marjorie married Robert E Mills in Little York on January 25, 1952 and he died March 1, 2010.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family and grandsons.  She also assisted in the family farm operation.

Marjorie was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Monmouth and enjoyed quilting.  She was known as a excellent cook and for her delicious cinnamon rolls.

Surviving are her 2 sons, Bruce (Susan) Mills of Little York and Rex (Beth) Mills of Gilson; daughter, Susan (David) Icenogle of Waterloo, IL; 9 grandchildren, Tony Mills, Jacob Mills, Rachel Mills-Brantly, John Mills, Tory Mills, Cort Mills, Tanner Icenogle, Hillary Patterson and Tyler Icenogle; 14 great grandchildren, Lexi Dutton, Luke Mills, Stanley Brantly, Parker Mills, Calvin Brantly, Teagan Mills, Kendall Mills, Bode Mills, Marley Mills, Easton Mills, Emma Icenogle, Gavin Patterson, Khloe Patterson and Vivienne Icenogle; 1 sister, Lucille (William) Biddle of Little York; and sister in law, Betty (Raymond) Bruyn of Monmouth; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 1 sister, Martha Krusmark

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth   Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Little York. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 Friday, March 10, 2017 at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Little Cedar Church, Little York or the Cedar Creek Cemetery.
