Donald H. Foster
Donald H. Foster, 84, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 4:27 P.M. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his home.
Donald was born on October 1, 1932 in Brimfield, Illinois, the son of Everett H. and Violet (Rynearson) Foster. He was raised and educated in the Edwards, Illinois area. He married Margaret Franklin Ferguson on December 1, 1959 in Peoria, Illinois and she preceded him in death.
Donald was a U.S. Navy veteran and he served on the U.S.S. OWENS 536 during the Korean War.
Donald was a sheet metal worker. He was a member of the U.A.W #1 in Peoria and the NRA. Donald was an avid outdoors man who liked to hunt and fish, he was also a jack of all trades, he could fix or make anything, and he was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Donald is survived by his four children, Donny (Angie) Foster of Washington, Illinois, Pamela Faith (Kenny) Foster Meeker of Washington, Illinois, Tonya Foster Richards of East Peoria, Illinois, and Ronald Eugene Foster of Knoxville, Illinois; five grandchildren, KC Foster, Drew Foster, Natasha Louise Hart, Micelle Richards Owens, and Jacob Robert Richards; three great grandchildren, Austin McWilliams, Daelyn Dills, and Paetyn Owens; two brothers, Jim (Lynn) Foster of East Peoria, Illinois and Archie (Roberta) Foster of Elmwood, Illinois; two sisters, Shirley (Audley) Whitson of Williamsfield, Illinois and Joyce Foster of Galesburg, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; his significant other, Lori Burnett a.k.a “Crickett”; one son, Christopher Wayne Foster; five brothers, Mearle (Gloria) Foster, Norman Foster, Walter Foster, Robert (Joyce) Foster, Richard (Terry) Foster; half-brother, Wilford Foster; four sisters, Alice Halstead, Frances Burson, Marcella Foster and half-sister, Gail Gehring.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Judes. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory are in charge of arrangements. On-line Condolences may be made through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhomes.com
