LeRoy M. Brennan, 65, of
Galesburg, died at 11:51 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 in OSF St.
Mary Medical Center.
He was born August 6,
1951, in Canton, Illinois, the son of Jack and Josephine (Lauman)
Brennan. He married Sharon Turk January 18, 2003 in Humble, Texas.
He is survived by his
wife, Sharon of Houston, Texas and Galesburg; a daughter, Cathy Lee
of Bushnell; four step-children, Carman (and Melvin), Tammy, and
Monica (and Donald), all of Texas and Richard (and Heather) of
Tennessee; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; three
sisters, Lorrain (and Patrick) Condon of South Carolina, Barbara (and
Robert) Genisio of Galesburg, and Audrey Huddleston of Galesburg; and
numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents
and a special nephew, Michael Genisio.
LeRoy was an over the road
truck driver for 40 years. He was raised in this area, graduating
from ROVA High School in 1970. He had lived in Houston for 14 years
until returning to Galesburg this past fall. He attended Faith Bible
Fellowship in Galesburg. LeRoy was known for his wonderful sense of
humor and for being a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and
Chicago Bears. In death, LeRoy will benefit other individuals by
being an organ and tissue donor.
Cremation will be
accorded. Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Friday, March 31, 2017
at Victoria Cemetery. Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at
Faith Bible Fellowship. Pastor Rodney Miller will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final
expenses. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation
Services of Galesburg is handling arrangements for the family.
