Lynn Leinbach

Lynn Leinbach, 66, of Stronghurst, IL passed away at 10:25 a.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Great River Hospice House, West Burlington, IA.He was born on October 20, 1950 in Burlington, IA, the son of Ernest and Jean Gibb Leinbach. On February 20, 1976 he married Linda Mitchell.

Lynn was a graduate of the Stronghurst High School, and received an associates degree from the Spoon River College in Canton, IL. He then served in the National Guard for six years. He was employed by the Henderson County Highway Department from 1970 to 1984, and for the past 33 years, was a General Superintendent for Gunther Contruction of Galesburg, IL. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and enjoyed spending time in his "Pines" near Stronghurst. He was a member of the Stronghurst Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, two sons, Scott (Angie) Leinbach of West Burlington , Chad Leinbach of Carthage, IL and four grandchildren: Mason, Mitchell, Isaac and Owen Leinbach. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Terry Leinbach.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m.Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst with Steve Minkler officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery near Media. Friends may call from 2:00 until 7 p.m.Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the Great River Hospice House.
