WC "Bud" Adair

WC "Bud" Adair, age 99, of Kirkwood, Illinois passed away at am at OSF St.Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, IL on March 22, 2017. "Bud" was born on February 3, 1918 in Burlington, Iowa and is the son of William and Mabel Young Adair. He was raised and educated in Monmouth and in Stronghurst Schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in the class of 1936. WC married Mildred E. McConnell on December 24, 1938 in rural Warren County, and she preceded him in her death on June 23, 2001. He was a long time member of the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church in Biggsville,IL. Bud was a lifetime farmer in grain and livestock in rural Kirkwood and loved working outdoors and gardening and was known for giving produce to anyone and everyone. He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca (Larry) Dowell of rural Stronghurst, IL. and Mary (John) Walters of rural Monmouth, IL Surviving are his daughter in laws, Linda Adair of Monmouth and Joyce Adair of Knoxville, IL. There are twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, one sister, Helen Hayes of Monmouth and a number of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sons Dan and John Adair and one sister, Jane Gustafson.
A graveside service is planned on Saturday March 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Biggsville Township Cemetery. As per his wishes no visitation is planned by his family. Memorial funds are being established for the Biggsville Township Cemetery or St.Jude Children's Hospitals.
