Dorothy L. Wilson, 95, of
Knoxville, formerly of Galesburg, died at 1:10 a.m. Thursday, May 4,
2017 in the Knox County Nursing Home.
She was born September 21,
1921 in Abingdon, the daughter of Albert and Lennie (McCracken)
Johnson. She married Ralph L. Wilson on October 25, 1941 in Kahoka,
Missouri. He preceded her in death January 21, 1980.
She is survived by three
sons, Rex (Peggy) Wilson of Galesburg, Roger (Bert) Wilson of
Knoxville, and Rodney (Linda) Wilson of Henderson; nine
grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and six great-great
grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death
by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Dorothy was a homemaker
and also worked as a housekeeper for a time. She attended First
Baptist Church. Dorothy enjoyed fishing at Little John Conservation
Club and sewing.
Cremation will be
accorded. Private family graveside service will be Monday, May 8,
2017 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Jim Ecklund will officiate.
There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to
the Alzheimer’s Unit at Knox County Nursing Home.
