Linda L. Brownlee

Linda L. Brownlee, age 70, of Oquawka, Illinois passed away at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois on May 5, 2017 at 1:02 am. Linda was born on October 21, 1946 in Oquawka, Illinois, the daughter of Orion Joseph and Bettie Lee Huss Shinberger. In her early years, the family moved about and she attended many schools. Linda graduated from Union High School with the Class of 1964. On September 19, 1964, she married Kenneth William Brownlee, Sr., and he preceded her in death on August 9, 2000. Linda worked for over 50 years cleaning and for families and painting houses in the Henderson and Warren County area. She enjoyed bowling, mushrooming, antique collecting; especially china, and dragon boat races. She was an avid fan of St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. Mostly, Linda loved spending time with her grandchildren. Linda is survived by two daughters; Kimberly Aden of Burlington, IA and Linda Brownlee of Oquawka, IL, one son, Kenneth "Bucky" (Aletha) Brownlee, Jr. of Oquawka, IL, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a special friend, George Peters. Also surviving are three brothers; Orion "Tuffy" (Sylvia) Shinberger of Thomasboro, IL, Earl Shinberger of Peoria, IL, and Terry (Connie) Shinberger of Oquawka, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister.

A funeral service is planned for 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Her family plans to receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded and burial will be at a later date at the Oquawka Cemetery.
