Roy E. Shaw

Roy E. Shaw, 84, of Avon, IL passed away Monday May 29, 2017 at the Care Center of Abingdon.  He was born Tuesday June 7, 1932 in Leslie, MO. the son of Oren and Mamie (Gray) Shaw.  He married Betty Meachum on January 1, 1974.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Betty Shaw of Avon, IL; Children Barbara Shaw of St. Augustine, IL, Linda (Wayne) Kilburn of Greenbush, IL, Roger (Michelle) Shaw of St. Augustine, IL, Cindy Yocum of Bushnell, IL, Roy (Carol) Shaw Jr. “Corky” of Roseville, IL, and Sue Ann Claudon of Ankeny, IA; grandchildren Jason Kilburn, Jacob Kilburn, Tricia Zehr, Cody Shaw, Chelsie Hoyt, Cassie Yeoman, Joshua Shaw, Jessica Shaw, Jillian Smith, Christine Russell, Tanya Blakeman, Tiffany Hall; 24 great grandchildren; siblings Walter Shaw, Bobby Shaw, Frank Shaw, Nellie Pulliam, Ollie Swank, John Shaw, Lou Shaw, and Eldo Shaw.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother (Joe), 1 sister (Faye), and 1 son (Allen).

 

He was a lifelong carpenter and farmer.  He enjoyed  fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed being on the pontoon on Little Swan Lake.

 

Funeral service will be Friday June 2, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home Roseville, IL.  Visitation will be Thursday June 1, 2017, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Wise Family Funeral Home Roseville, IL.  Burial will be in the Greenbush Cemetery Greenbush, IL.  Memorials may be made to the Avon Fat Steer Show.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamily-hooverhall.com.   Wise family Funeral Home 230 W.
