Joanne McIntyre, 82, of
Galesburg, died at 5:44 p.m. Monday, May 29, 2017 at Galesburg
Cottage Hospital.
She was born September 26,
1934, in LaGrange, Missouri, the daughter of Burrell L. and
Margaretta O. (Bland) Woodworth. She married Chet McIntyre on
November 3, 1957, in Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death May
3, 2005.
She is survived by two
daughters, Cindy J. (and Larry) Ashby and Tammy L. (and Garry)
Barton, both of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Garry (and Ashley)
Barton, Aaron (and fiancé, Kim Magee) Barton, Michelle Reynolds, and
Stephen Ashby; four great grandchildren, Katherine Plackett, Payton
Ashby, Mason Ashby, and Skylar Ashby; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her
parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
Joanne worked at
Soangetaha Country Club for 16 years, where she was a cook and made
salads. She also was a cook at Steak and Shake for several years.
She had lived in Galesburg since 1968. She was a member of the
former Prairieland Baptist Church.
Joanne was a huge sports
fan. She was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan, but also claimed to
be a Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed watching the Chicago Bulls. When
her grandchildren were younger, she attended their sporting events as
well. Joanne enjoyed puzzle books, especially crossword and word
search. She loved visiting with family and friends and always had a
smile to share.
Visitation will be 5 to 7
p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg
Chapel. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will
follow in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made
