Jimmy
Dean Hutchings, 61, of Galesburg, died Friday, June 2, 2017 at home.
Jimmy
was born January 31, 1956 in Galesburg, the son of Marvin and Shirley
Hutchings. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1974. He
later graduated from Hamilton Technical College. He worked for the
Painters and Allied Trades International Union Local 502 & 676 as
a painter and dry wall finisher for many years. Jimmy will long be
remembered as a good honest guy who cherished his family, especially
his grandchildren, and a devoted and faithful friend. He took great
pride in all his work, was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and loved
Harley’s.
He is
survived by his mother, Shirley Hutchings of Galesburg; two
daughters, Stephanie (Nick) Reagan of Brandon, MS and Cassaundra
Hutchings of Wataga; one son, Preston (Liz) Hutchings of San Antonio,
TX; and four grandchildren, Harley Lynn, Kenneth David Dean,
Faithlynn Nevaeh, and Jaxson James. He is also survived by one
brother, Leroy (Vickie) Hutchings of Galesburg; and one sister,
Vickie Hutchings of Ft. Myers, FL. He was preceded in death by his
father; one brother, Steve; his beloved cat, Baby; and the mother of
his children, Cindy.
Per
Jimmy’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of
life will be held at 232 E. Prairie St., Wataga, IL Tuesday, June 6,
2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to
Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may
be directed to the family for a fund to assist with funeral expenses.
