Jon Michael Admire

Jon Michael Admire, 68, of Galesburg, died at 7:45 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 in Galesburg.

Jon was born May 24, 1949 in Abingdon, the son of Lloyd and Doris Kilpatrick Admire. He is survived by two sons, Travis (Brandy) Admire of Galesburg and Shawn Admire; 4 brothers, Jack and Jerry both of South Carolina, Norman of Chillicothe, and Alan of Abingdon; and 6 grandchildren, Chadrick, Briana, Isaac, Dakota, Sklyar, and Tristan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jon served in the US Navy serving in Vietnam. He worked as a police officer for many years until his retirement. After moving back to Galesburg, Jon worked security at Galesburg Cottage Hospital for several years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Travis, spending time with his grandkids and was involved in their activities. He also enjoyed boating and working on projects around the house. He also attended several Chicago Bears football games with his brother Norman.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life for close family and friends will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 in the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
