Daniel J. Lawson, 54, of
Galesburg, Illinois died at 4:19 am Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at
Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg.
He was born August 13,
1962 in Galesburg the son of James L. and Beverly J. Wallace Lawson.
Daniel is survived by his
son, James Edward (Thea) Lawson of Palmyra, Illinois; his mother,
Beverly Lawson of Galesburg; three sisters, Sherry (Jim)
Lawson-Weaver, Cindy Lawson-Shumaker and Carrie Lawson all of
Galesburg and one granddaughter, Kennedy Jane Waylen and another
grandchild on the way. He is preceded in death by his father, James.
Daniel had worked for
Doyle Furniture and Carter Lumber Company. He later was a
self-employed draft line cleaner and massage therapist. He attended
Galesburg schools and received his associate’s degree from Carl
Sandburg College. He later received his massage training from Capri
College. He participated with the Hospice Compassus Grief Camp, by
offering massages to those involved. Daniel had attended Bethel
Baptist Church. He loved playing softball and working out. He enjoyed
watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears. Daniel was a
member of the American Massage Therapy Association.
Memorial Services will be
scheduled for a later date. Cremation to be accorded. Memorials may
be made to the Family or to Hospice Compassus Grief Camp.
