Kenneth Parker Maxwell

Kenneth Parker Maxwell age 76 of Bushnell, IL passed away at 5:08 A.M. on Sunday August 6, 2017 at the Silverado Memory Care Community in Naperville, IL.  He was born on September 24, 1940 in Bloomington, IL to Glenn and Winifred Parker Maxwell.  He married Judith K. White in Normal, IL on March 16, 1963.  They were married for 49 years before she passed away on July 14, 2012.  Kenny is survived by two daughters, Teresa (David) Braband of Naperville, IL and Terri Myers of Normal, IL., as well as a sister Diane (Joe) Lecher of Pesotum, IL.  He is also survived by three grandsons, Nathaniel Braband, Cole Havens, and Kyle Myers; three granddaughters, Calin & Grace Braband and Danielle Myers; 2 great-grandchildren, Hailey and Ethan Cox, and several nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Lisa (Maxwell) Havens.
Kenny was raised in Normal, IL was active in 4-H and helped his father on the family farm.  He was a graduate of Normal Community High School and Illinois State University.  He was employed by Armour Packing Company, Heinold Hog Markets, and Cargill Meats before retiring in 2008.  He formed many friendships playing golf, fast-pitch softball, and bowling in the communities of Henry, IL., then Bushnell, IL.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bushnell, Bushnell Fire Department, Henry and Bushnell Masonic Lodges, the Mohammed Temple of Peoria, and it’s Parade VW Bug Unit.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday August 12, 2017 at the Bushnell United Methodist Church with Pastor Amy Holeman officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 P.M. on Friday August 11, 2017 at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell, where friends may call after 2:00 P.M. on Friday.  Burial will be in the Bushnell Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital Patient Transportation Fund, the Bushnell-Prairie City High School FFA Chapter, or to Shaw Creek Golf Course.  Please sign the guestbook or leave condolences at www.martinhollisfh.com.
