Bonnie J. Brant, 84, of
Monmouth, formerly of Oquawka and Galesburg, died at 9:46 a.m.
Sunday, March 15, 2015 in Legacy Estates in Monmouth.
She was born March 30,
1930 in Galesburg, the daughter of George L. and Sadie Mae (Folger)
DuVall. She married Robert J. Brant on March 6, 1948 in Galesburg.
They enjoyed 51 years of marriage before he preceded her in death
December 23, 1999.
She is survived by her
children, Catherine (and Sarah Johnson) Leonard of Rankin, Illinois
and Mary (and William) Noel of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Michael
(and Dana) Brant of Kirkwood, Illinois, and James Brant of Rankin; 12
grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas DuVall of
Boynton Beach, Florida; and two sisters, Beverly Jacobs of Galesburg
and Linda (and John) Highfill of Fort Myers, Florida. In addition to
her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister,
Shirley Hainline.
Bonnie was raised and
educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1948.
She lived in Galesburg until moving to Oquawka in 1960. She had
worked at Formfit in Monmouth for 15 years. Bonnie was a member of
St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Keithsburg. She was also a member of
the Eagles Lodge in Oquawka. Bonnie’s great love and talent was
needlework. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting for her family.
Visitation will be 5 to 7
p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg
Chapel. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at
the chapel with Father Tim Hepner officiating. Burial will be in St.
Joseph Cemetery in Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to
