Carolu (Bollman) Purtle

Carolu (Bollman) Purtle, age 57, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 5:12 am. 

She was born on July 23, 1957 in Monmouth, IL, and is the daughter of Robert Joe and Patricia Marguerite (Peck) Bollman. Carolu was reared and educated in Monmouth where she attended local schools and graduated from Monmouth High School. She was previously married to Randy Purtle. Carolu began work at Community Memorial Hospital in the office. She worked for over 30 years at the hospital as a medicare/medicaid accountant. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Monmouth where she taught Sunday School and worked with the youth groups. She was also active in Bible studies at her church. Carolu and her mother were also active in transporting many children to Church on Sunday, for activities. She was active locally in the Warren County Relay for Life. Carolu is survived by her mother; Patricia Bollman of Monmouth, one son; Jeremy Purtle of Monmouth, four grandchildren, one great-grandson, one brother; Bob (Lynda) Bollman of Inverness, Illinois. Eight nieces and one nephew also survive. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother.

A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the First Christian Church, 514 North Sunnylane, Monmouth, Illinois. Her family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will take place at Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth.
