Edna I. Larson Burch, 92, of
Galesburg, Illinois, died under hospice care at 9:40 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015
in Galesburg.
She was born March 22, 1923
in rural Leland, Illinois the daughter of Irvin and Eva (Anderson)
Gunderson. She married her high school
sweetheart, Milbert L. Larson on May 30, 1942 at Bethany Lutheran Church in
Leland. They had four children. Milbert preceded her in death March 16,
1970. She later married Barton Burch on
November 4, 1975. He preceded her in
death November 5, 2013. Edna was also
preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Hazel Klein and Ruth
Marshall.
She is survived by her four
children, Rebecca Stange of San Jose, California, Deborah (and Michael) Stout
of Ellicott City, Maryland, Judy Bradford of Peoria, Illinois, and Thomas (and
Kim) Larson of Livermore, California; five grandsons, Brett (and Mimi) Stange,
Scott (and Beth) Stange, Christopher Bradford, Ryan Bradford, and Joseph Stout;
a great grandson, Clyde Stange; a great granddaughter, Hazel Stange; and two
sisters, Frances Nelson and Helen Julie Stephenson.
Edna was raised and educated
in Leland, graduating from Leland High School in 1941. She had a strong faith and was a member of
Bethany Lutheran Church while living in Leland.
In Galesburg, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Edna had a lifelong passion for antiques and
had owned Landmark Antiques in Galesburg.
Funeral will be 11 a.m.
Friday, April 10, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Leland. Pastor Harold Grafe will officiate. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery in rural
Leland. A luncheon will immediately
follow the burial at the church, where an opportunity for fellowship and
visiting will take place. Memorial
contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Galesburg or Bethany
Lutheran Church in Leland.
