Diane S. Brown

Diane S. Brown, 55, of Cameron, IL died at 3:50 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.

She was born December 22, 1959 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Scott Modglin. Diane was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Warren High School in 1978. She attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg and earned her LPN and RN nursing degrees.  Diane later earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.                                      

Diane married Denney D. Brown in Monmouth on February 2, 1979 and he died February 12, 2002.

She worked at OSF St. Mary Medical Center for 27 years.  Diane started as a nurse and worked her way up to the Director of Surgical Services.

Diane had a strong Christian faith.  She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and helping her friends design gardens.  Diane also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her 3 children, Lindsey (Siddharth Singla) Brown of Bloomington, IL, Neileigh (Jason) Payne of Wentzville, MO, and Gavin Brown of Moline, IL; her father Scott Modglin of Ava, IL, her maternal grandmother, Ann Hanson of Albia, IA; 2 sisters, Cheryl (Jay) Brewer of Centerville, IA, Carolyn (Shannon) Hise of Knoxville, and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 17, 2015 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Burial will be in Silent Home Cemetery, Cameron.  Friends may call Thursday, April 16, 2015 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home where her family will be present from 6:00-8:00p.m..  A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
