Laurie A. Landis

Laurie A. Landis, age 54, of Maquon, died at 2:20 A.M. on Monday, April 13, 2015 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.
                                                                                                    
She was born November 13, 1960 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of John and Shirley Miller- Davis.   She married Ronald D. Landis on May 14, 1988 in Maquon, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, Ron of Maquon, daughter Savannah (Kirk) Landis-Franzen and granddaughter Payton Franzen. Sister Kathy Knox of London Mills; nephews Dustin (Casey) Knox and Travis Knox; great-niece Lilyann Knox of London Mills and great-nephews Rune and Linus Knox, of London Mills, Illinois. Brother John L (Karen) Davis III; niece Virginia Davis of London Mills and nephew John L. Davis IV US Navy, Saratoga Springs, New York. Sisters Paula (Jerry) Rogis of Clinton, Iowa, Mary Sholls of Milan, Illinois, Pat Rose of Knoxville, Illinois, and Carole (Willie) Hyman of Galesburg, Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sister-in-law Liz (Charlie) Tucker; niece Alison Gram and great niece Madelyn; sister-in-law Cynthia (James) Olson of Tyron, Georgia; nephews Jeff Yocum, TJ Olson, also from Tyron, Georgia; niece Jodi (Tim) Yocum-Southerd of Melbourne, Australia; great-nieces Rory Olson, Anna Yocum and great-nephew Harrison Southerd. Also surviving are her good friends Rita (Curt) Anderson of Galesburg, Illinois, Shirley Jo Platcher of Knoxville, Illinois, Lorie (Carrol) Whitmore of Cuba, Illinois and Kelsey Knox of Macomb, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Shirley Davis of London Mills and sister Joyce Compton of Westmont, Illinois. Uncle Paul (Diane) Davis of Fox River Grove, Illinois, and mother-in-law Pat Gooding.

She graduated from Spoon River Valley in 1979. She retired in 2010 after working as a Purchaser for Galesburg Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois.

Laurie loved her dogs, Stanley and Axel, and her hairless cat, Harry.

A celebration of life will be held April 25, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M at the Maquon Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Maquon, Illinois.
