June Marie Elliott, age 62, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 2:03 am on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at her residence. She was born on July 8, 1952 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Gordon Dwight and Lois June (Eaton) Nichols. June was reared and educated in Alexis, Illinois. On September 21, 1991, she married James Douglas Elliott and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2006. June was employed locally as the deli manager of Triple "E" Convenience Store for 6 years and as a manager of Dollar General for a number of years. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan and loved "scratch off" lottery tickets. June enjoyed all animals especially her cat "Boo". She very much enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. June is survived by her daughter; Rachael Elliott of East Peoria, IL., five sisters; Mary Green, Martha Bradg, Donna Hullgren, Karen Sparrow, and Alena Wilson, four brothers; Dale Nichols, John Nichols, Bill Nichols, and Harry Nichols. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Jim.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April, 21, 2015 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL. Her family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 prior to the service.
