Mr. Phillip Neil Ruhl, 83,
of Galesburg, Illinois died at 9:05 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015 at OSF
St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
He was born March 26, 1932
in rural Hannibal, Missouri to Joseph and Stella Campbell Ruhl. He
married Alta Piper in 1949 in Hannibal. She survives.
Also surviving is a son,
Neil Ruhl of rural Knoxville; three daughters, Kathy (and Tim)
Stenson of Galesburg, Robin (and Bill) McNamara of Ridge Crest,
California, and Jane (and Jeff) Frazier of Dahinda, Illinois; a
brother, Glenn (and Martha) Ruhl of St. Louis, Missouri; three
sisters, Marion Pickett, Leta Glasscock and Jo Anne Roellig, all of
Hannibal Missouri; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by a son, Stan Ruhl; a brother, Richard Ruhl
and his parents.
Phillip was a truck driver
for over 60 years and retired in 2008. During that time he and his
son, Neil, owned the Iron Horse Enterprises. He graduated from
Rensselair High School in 1949. He was a member of the Oaks
Community Church in rural Dahinda. Phillip loved reading, flying and
Bible study.
Cremation will be
accorded. Memorial service will be 11 am Monday. April 13, 2015 at
the Oaks Community Church. Rev. Marty Briney will officiate.
Visitation will be 10:30-11:00 am Monday at the church. Memorials may
