Stephen D. Metzner Sr., age 65, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 5:20 am on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Stephen was born on January 6, 1950 in Moline, Illinois and is the son of Donald Lee and Hazel Mae Dismuke Metzner. He was raised in Moline, Illinois where he attended the local schools. He most recently has been employed by Eagle Signal where he has been a fork lift operator. Stephen has been a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church of Monmouth, and loved to watch old westerns on the television. He also loved to just be around people. He is survived by one niece, Michelle L. (John) Sullivan of Joy, Illinois and his brother, Donald L. (Sandra) Metzner, Jr. of Little York, Illinois. He is preceded in his death by his parents and his daughter, Christina; and two brothers, Stan and Kenneth.
A graveside service is planned by his family at 11:00 am on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Rose Lawn Cemetery in Moline, Illinois where interment will follow.
