Diana K. Stinemates, 71, of Monmouth, passed away at the OSF Hospice House in Peoria, Illinois on Monday July 27, 2015 at 12:45 am. She was born in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Drexel W. and Ina Mae (Patterson) Moore. Diana was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School in Decatur, Illinois. She also attended business college at the American Institute of Commerce in Davenport, Iowa. On June 9, 1985, Diana married Robert C. "Bobbie" Stinemates in Monmouth and he is surviving. She began employment at Higgins Dairy where she worked as a behind the counter server. She then worked in the office at Bowman Colwell Department Store in Monmouth. Diana also was employed as a secretary for Thompson Motor Sales and Prince Motors. Lastly, she worked with her brother Jim at Mechanical Service Incorporated in Galesburg until his passing. Diana loved sewing, quilting, crocheting and was involved in many groups that involved those hobbies. After her retirement, Diana loved spending time with her family and being a grandmother. She was active in the Gerlaw Christian Church and its ladies aide. Diana dearly loved her puppies Sadie Mae and Chloe Grace. Diana is survived by her husband Robert C. "Bobbie" Stinemates of Monmouth; one daughter, Dawn (Keith) Lemke Brown of Monmouth; one son, Douglas D. Lemke of Knoxville; two grandchildren, Megan and Abigail; one sister, Debbie (David) Fisher of Monmouth; and two sisters-in-law, Carol Moore Painter and Bonnie Flatt. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jim Moore.
A funeral service is planned for 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Her family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Center Grove Cemetery.
