Surviving is his wife, Patricia; a son, Phillip R. Filson of Laura, Illinois; a daughter, Peggy (Mark) Campbell of Elmwood, Illinois; five grandchildren, Brandi (Tim) Daugherty, Joshua (Anna) Filson, Amanda (Alex) Yerkey, Curtis Campbell, and Kimberly Campbell; four great-grandchildren, Eric and Alyson Daugherty, Cameron Yerkey and Wyatt Filson; two sisters; and one brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Paul E. Filson, two brothers, and one sister.
Paul retired from being a mechanic at the Knox County Highway Department for 30 years he also farmed.
He was a member of Little John Conservation Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid outdoorsman.
Funeral service will be at 11 A.M. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Jennifer Seder will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Interment will be in the Williamsfield Cemetery, Williamsfield, Illinois. Memorial donations may be left to a charity of the donor’s choice.
