A. Maxine Hiett


A. Maxine Hiett, age 91, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 6:00 am on Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Roseville Nursing and Rehab Center in Roseville, Illinois.

Maxine was born on July 24, 1924 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of William Monroe and Merle Meta Kessinger Reyburn. She was raised in Monmouth, where she attended local schools and Monmouth High School. She then graduated from the Kirkwood High School in Kirkwood with the class of 1944. Maxine was first married to Louis Almaguer on May 25, 1946 in Monmouth, and he preceded her in death in 1948. She later married Robert Hiett in February 1958 in Monmouth, Illinois. He is surviving. Maxine began work at Western Stoneware of Monmouth, Illinois where she worked for a number of years. She then was employed at Peters Jewelry and later at Wirtz Book Store, both former businesses in Monmouth. Maxine is a life member of Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth and it's Altar and Rosary Society and parents club. When her children were small she was active in Brownies and Girl Scouts and also Cub Scouts. She also was very involved with Kewpiesta of the Bonniebrook Historical Society in Branson, Missouri. She also was a life member and held many offices in the Rose O'Niell Society and began the Bonniebrook Museum. 

She is survived by three daughters, Xandra (Ted) Tarr of Cleveland, TN; Merleanne (Robert) Rampale of Prairieview, IL; and Roberta Ann Hiett also of Prairieview, Illinois. One son survives, Robert A. Hiett II of Galesburg, IL.; There are seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren surviving. One sister survives, Pauline (Pat) DeWitt of Galesburg, IL; and three brothers, Gene (Donna) Reyburn of Monmouth, IL; Charles (Donna) Reyburn of Galesburg, IL; and James (Sandra) Reyburn of Whittier, of CA. Also a number of nieces and nephews are also surviving. She is preceded in her death by her parents, one son Ronald, and her first husband.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday September 18, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment will follow in St.Mary's Catholic Cemetery of Monmouth. A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 pm on Thursday September 17, 2015 at Turnbull Funeral Home where the family plans visitation and to receive their friends follow the Rosary Service.
