Vivian L. Smith

Vivian L. Smith, 76, of St. Augustine, IL passed away at 12:15 AM on September 25, 2015 peacefully at her residence. She was born on July 17, 1939 in Jacksonville, IL to Leland and Marie (Moss) Ray. She married Harold Marvin Smith on May 3, 1963 in Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2015.

Surviving are two children, Martha (David Hiatt) Sandman of St. Augustine, IL; Michael Smith Sr. of St. Augustine, IL; three grandchildren, Marcus (Amber) Sandman of Galesburg, IL; Maria (Jesus) DeLaCruz of Abingdon, IL; Michael Smith Jr. of Abingdon, IL and six great-grandchildren.

Vivian and Harold shared over 51 years of marriage. In 1977 Vivian along with her husband opened Smith Bate Shop in St. Augustine were the served the community for 37 Years. Together they also participated in the Spoon River Scenic Drive for 30 years selling Bittersweet’s and Leather Wallets.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday September 30, 2015 at the Corman Memorial Home in Avon, IL where visitation will be one hour prior to services. The Pastor Rodney Fegan will officiate. Interment will be in Babbitt Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Family of Vivian L. Smith.
