Margaret W. "Peg" Risen

Margaret W. “Peg” Risen, 96, of Galesburg , died at 7:35 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare Center , Galesburg .

Peg was born October 15, 1919 in Fulton , Illinois , the daughter of Robert E. and Tracy K. Tracy. Peg married the love of her life, Howard W. Risen on October 15, 1953 . He preceded her in death on May 10, 1998 . Peg is survived by her dear friends James “Dave” (Bev) Powell of Galesburg, and her many friends, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband; parents, two sisters, and one brother.

 Peg was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society, and the Forresters.


A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. , on October 23, 2015 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Rev. William T. Miller, IC will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following mass and a burial of cremated remains will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Deacon Michael Crummer will be officiating . Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
