Janet Suzanne Carr

Janet Suzanne Carr, 68, of Galesburg, died at 9:03 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria IL.   She was born August 3, 1947 in Bloomington, IL the daughter of Wayne Whitfield and Lola Jane Huss Hough.  She graduated from Galesburg High School and received her LPN in Canton, IL.  She married Ronald E. Carr on October 11, 1969 in Galesburg.  Jan is survived by two daughters, Julie (Wade Price) Martin of Phoenix, AZ and Ronda (Jason) Lambin of Alpha, IL; one son, Joshua Carr; four grandchildren, Taylor (Blake) King, Tyler Martin, Joseph Lambin, and Allison Lambin; and two great grandsons, Liam and Noah King.  She is also survived by one brother, Bruce (Mary) Hough of Omaha, NE; one sister, Mary (Phil) Breckling of Crosby, TX; and several nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents.  Jan worked as a LPN for several years in Galesburg.  She also worked as a floor guard at Grand Roller Rink in Galesburg for many years.  She was a longtime member of Faith United Methodist Church in Galesburg, serving as a youth leader and was active in the ladies’ circle.  She loved to go roller skating, horses, her dogs and watching her girls play softball growing up.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation.  No funeral services are planned.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial bench to be placed at the softball field.  Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
