Mr. Thomas J. Brooks, 74
of Galesburg, Illinois died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at his home
with his family by his side.
He was born on December
16, 1940 in Galesburg to Leo Dale and Irene Worden Brooks. He married Peggy K. Johnson on November 24,
1979 in Cameron, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are two
sons, Ronald S. (and Ellen) of Morrison, Illinois and F. Greg “Fatman” of
Galesburg; a daughter, Lori A. (and Phillip) Bladel of Durant, Iowa; two
special sons, David and Dan Callihan; a sister, Mary (and Ronald) Dickerson of
Westminster, Colorado; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, W. Todd;
three brothers, Richard Eugene, Robert “Gus”, and Leo Dale; and a sister,
Patricia Brooks.
Thomas was a millwright at
Maytag for 42 years, retiring in 2000.
He was a 1958 graduate of Galesburg High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Ralph M. Noble
American Legion Post #285.
Funeral services will be
1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg
Chapel with Rev. Jim Ecklund officiating.
Burial will be in Warren County Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday,
November 20, 2015 at the chapel. Memorials
may be made to OSF Hospice. Online
