He was born July 22, 1919 in Galesburg to George and Hildur Erlandson Malm. He married Shirley Mae Ryberg in 1959. Surviving are his wife, a son, David, of St. Charles, IL, and his loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1938. During World War II he served in the Coast Artillery Corps in the South Pacific, including Guadalcanal, New Guinea, and the Philippines, for which he received two Bronze Stars.
He was employed by O.M.C. Gale Products for 37 years, retiring in 1983. He was of the Baptist faith.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has been requested. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. A family graveside service will be held at a later date at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at
