Dr. Kenneth L. Bussey, 70, of Galesburg, died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2016 at home.
He
was born June 28, 1946, in Charlestown Indiana, the son of Fay L. and
Virginia (Dueser) Bussey. He married Christine L. Brown on July 4, 2009
in Galesburg.
He
is survived by his wife, Christine; two sons, Brent Bussey of Franklin,
Tennessee and Ryan (and Ellen) Bussey of Spring Hill, Tennessee, a
daughter, Kimberly Bussey of Denver, Colorado; a step daughter,
Jordan (and Tom) Rozeske of Madison, Wisconsin; a sister, Sharon Bussey
and her partner, Lisa Mills of New Albany, Indiana, and six
grandchildren, Thomas Soulsky, Conner Bussey, Nicholas Bussey, Emily
Bussey, Abbey McDole, and Charlotte Bussey. He was preceded
in death by his parents.
Dr.
Bussey was an orthopedic surgeon for over 30 years, retiring in 2013.
He worked in the Christie Clinic in Champaign, Illinois for 27 years and
also for the Galesburg Orthopedics for 12 years. He was
dearly loved by his patients and co-workers and they continued to keep
in contact with him by mail, telephone, or personal visits before and
after his retirement. He graduated from Charlestown High School,
Charlestown, Indiana and Indiana University in Bloomington,
Indiana. He did his Orthopedics residency at the Indiana University
Medical Center. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. Dr. Bussey
was a member of First Baptist Church.
He was also a Major in the United States Air Force.
Cremation
will be accorded. Visitation will be 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday,
November 25, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. A
memorial service will follow at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Siems
officiating.
