Arnold J. “Junior” Thompson

Arnold J. “Junior” Thompson, age 61, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 3:18 P.M. surrounded by his family on Monday, November 28, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

He was born on March 4, 1955 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Arnold C. and Darlene L. Thompson. Arnold married Sharon L. Wright on July 19, 1973 in Marshall, Missouri.

Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Sharon L. Thompson of Galesburg, Illinois; two daughters: Michelle (Jeremy) McKee of Galesburg, Illinois and Tami (Lonnie Burnett) Thompson of Galesburg, Illinois; three beloved grandchildren, Bryce, Blake, Brooklynn McKee, two brothers; Billy (Sally) Thompson of Galesburg, Illinois and Eugene (Florence) Briggs of Gilson, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Jim, Bobby, Jerry, Donnie and one sister; Carol.

He worked all of his life in foundries, most recently retiring from Cast Technologies in Peoria, Illinois after 26 years. Arnold enjoyed collecting coins, going to local auctions, and traveling to Rutledge, Missouri to visit flea markets. He loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter Michelle. Arnold loved his two dogs Homer and Holly.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 P.M. – 3:30 P.M. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois, Rev. Tyson Parks will officiate.
