Grace Chaplin, 69, of
Knoxville, died at 9:58 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in OSF St.
Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born October 13,
1947, in Paducah, Kentucky, the daughter of Woodrow Wilson and Anna
Lorene (Yates) Loveless. She married Lewis Chaplin III in 1966 in
Tennessee. He preceded her in death February 1, 2014.
She is survived by a
daughter, Anna (and Christopher Weisinger) Qualls of Galesburg; two
sons, Lewis (and Kristy) Chaplin IV of Sumter, South Carolina and
Aaron (and Steven) Chaplin of Galesburg; seven grandchildren; six
great grandchildren; and a sister, Emma Louann Loveless in Arizona.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death her parents;
and an infant daughter, Samantha Lynn Chaplin.
Grace had worked in retail
management for many years. She then was the owner and operator of
Cactus Café in Lake Havasu City, Arizona for many years. She
retired in 2003. She received a degree in restaurant management in
1986. She was a member of the Assembly of God.
Cremation will be
accorded. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 7,
2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Jim Ecklund
will officiate. There will be no visitation. Online condolences may
