Reba J. Weinreich, age 84, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 12:20 am on
July 1, 2017 at Great River Medical Center in Burlington, Iowa. Reba was born on
October 4, 1932 in Portageville, Missouri and is the daughter of Jess and Thelma
Boone Chamberlain. She was raised in Cape Girardo, Missouri where she attended
school and graduated from Cape Girardo High School. Reba married Leslie Clair
Weinreich on December 26, 1968 in Burlington, Iowa and he preceded her in death
on December 7, 2001. Reba was a telephone operator for many years and worked at
Northwestern Bell Telephone all her career and until she retired in 1980. She
enjoyed fishing and being with her family and friends and a marvelous great
river view.
She is survived by five daughters, Kathy (Tom) Thomson of Sperry, IA; Linda
Weinreich of Nevada, IA; Peggy (Bobby) Huggins of Collins, IA; Diane Gonzales of
Biggsville, IL; and Lani Hind of Burlington, IA., four sons, Dean (Betty)
Weinreich of Lomax, IL; James Weinreich of Burlington, IA; Danny (Sherry)
Weinreich of Lomax, IL; and Nick (Wanda) Hind of Burlington, IA. Numerous
grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren are also
surviving. One brother, Joe (Debbie) Chamberlain of Perryville, MO is also
surviving. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, one son, one
daughter, one sister, and her granddaughter.
As per her wishes, cremation has been accorded. Turnbull Funeral Home in
Oquawka is in charge of the local arrangements. A graveside service for the
committal of her ashes is planned at 1:00 pm on July 10, 2017 in the North
Walker Cemetery, north of Burlington, Iowa. A memorial fund is being established
