Beatrice
M. McNeil, 88 of Galesburg, Ill. died 2:50 am Friday, November 14,
2014 in Heartland Health Care Center.
Beatrice
was born on March 18, 1926 in Yancy, Kentucky, the daughter of
William and Minnie Harpole McAfee. She first married Gordon Mosher.
She then married Jacinto Pacheco and later married Robert McNeil. She
moved to Galesburg in 1945.
She is
survived by two sons, Dennis (and Sharon) Pacheco of Las Vegas,
Nevada and Ron (Joanne) Pacheco of Galesburg; three daughters, Karen
(and Sam) Reynolds of Oneida, Illinois, Tanya (and Rex) Carlson of
Wataga, Illinois and Angela Andrews of Galesburg; a sister, Ollie
Scranton of Nebo, Illinois; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-five great
grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in
death by her parents, all three husbands, a daughter, Jeanine, six
brothers and three sisters.
While in
Galesburg, Beatrice worked as a waitress at the Hotel Custer and
worked at Admirals for 10 years. She also did in-home care for 10
years, retiring in 2000.
She was a
member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Moose and the Galesburg
American Legion Auxiliary. She was of the Christian Faith. She
enjoyed quilting and made many for her family.
Funeral
services are scheduled for 10 am Tuesday at the
Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Don Reynolds will
officiate. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Monday at the chapel.
Burial will be at the Oneida Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the
