RUth M. McCormick

Ruth M. McCormick, age 82, of Knoxville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 12:11 P.M. at the OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois.

 

Ruth was born on August 21, 1932 in Hugoton, Kansas.  She graduated from high school and then attended college for one year.  She married James McCormick on August 25, 1952 in Maquon, Illinois.

 

She was a homemaker, and a Christian woman and member of the Maquon United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed embroidering, listening to music and having the radio on while in the kitchen.

 

Ruth is survived by her children, Steven (Karen) McCormick of Yates City, Illinois; Cheri Corbin-Shafer of Kankakee, Illinois; Bonny (Randy) Bellinger of Monmouth, Illinois, and Ted McCormick of  Galesburg, Illinois.  She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  She is preceded by her parents, husband, one daughter, Jane Zimmerman and two sisters, Helen Brinkemeyer and Velda McCormick.

 

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Maquon, Illinois.  Interment will be at the Maquon Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Maquon United Methodist Church and Knox County Nursing Home.  Online condolences may be left at www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com.
