Raymond LeRoy “Tarzan” Longcor, 84, of Galesburg, died at 5:20
p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Heartland Health Care, Galesburg.
He was born March 9, 1930 in Galesburg, the son of Charles
L. and Jessie P. Hoots Longcor. He
married Kathy Stinson. He later married
Judy Clark. Raymond is survived by two
sons, Raymond Stinson and Timothy Longcor both of Galesburg; three daughters,
Karin (Michael) Mize of Monmouth, Kelly (Gussy) Christofferson of Aberdeen, SD,
and Laurali (Edward) Lape of Galesburg; three sisters, Eva (Merle) Brown of
Poplar Grove, Sylvia Smith of Peoria, and Edith Mitchell of Byron; 13
grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters.
He worked as a stocker in the freezer at Roger Brothers for
over 30 years. Tarzan was a member of
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Galesburg. He recently had attended Gordon Behrent’s
Senior Center. He loved to watch old
western movies.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at
Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at
the funeral home. Burial will follow in
Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.
