Donna Rae Foster

Donna Rae Foster, 70, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

She was born on July 30, 1944 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Jack Howard Taylor and Aurora Swank.  Donna married James Foster on March 1, 1963 in Carthage, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2004.

Donna was a cook at the former Jumers and the Warren School District; she also spent much of her time as an activity director for the Galesburg Terrace.  She was a member of the East Galesburg Community Chapel. Donna enjoyed camping, crocheting, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; James Henry (and Melissa) Foster Jr. of Neponsit, Illinois, Sue Ann (and Pat) Conner of Galva, Illinois, Vicki Ann (and Gail) Hootman of Galesburg, Illinois, Robert Floyd (and Karla) Foster of Malden, Missouri, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, adopted sons and daughters; Tony and Sandy Haase, Jeff and Tina Landen, and brother; Terry Clark of Knoxville.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband; James Foster, parents; Jack and Aurora Taylor, sisters; Bonnie Elliott and Connie Cadwell, brother Kenney Clark, granddaughter Ashley Spiegel; and great-granddaughter Sara Beth Foster.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois.  A graveside service will be held following the visitation on Friday at the Galva Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be left to the family.  Online condolences can be made at www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com
